A Minneapolis woman struck another woman with a glass bottle during a fight in a downtown parking ramp, causing serious injuries to the victim’s head and arm, according to charges.
Genesis Belen Anaya Gonzalez, 24, faces a charge of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
According to the criminal complaint, officers responded to a report of hotrodders at a parking ramp in Minneapolis at about 2:12 a.m. on September 13, 2026. When officers arrived, they saw a large group gathered on both sides of the ramp and began dispersing the crowd. Minutes later, officers observed a physical fight break out near the elevators on the west side of the ramp.

Officers saw Genesis Belen Anaya Gonzalez holding a glass bottle while arguing with another woman. Officers separated the two at that time and noted that Gonzalez was the only person holding a bottle. An officer then saw Gonzalez throw an object toward a group standing nearby, which appeared to be part of the glass bottle she had been holding.
Shortly after, the victim approached officers and asked for medical help, bleeding heavily from the head and with a deep laceration on her left arm. The victim told officers that a woman had hit her with a bottle. An unidentified man pointed out Gonzalez as the person who assaulted the victim.
As officers approached, Gonzalez looked at them and began hurrying down the stairs. Officers chased and took her into custody. While being detained, Gonzalez made unprompted statements that she was being assaulted and asked, “what was I supposed to do?” Officers recovered a shattered glass bottle covered in a bloodlike substance at the scene.

First-degree assault, alleging great bodily harm, carries up to 20 years in prison. The lower degrees range from misdemeanor up to 10-year felony exposure depending on weapon use and harm.
