Crystal police went to the scene and were told by witnesses the shots may have come from inside a nearby residence.
Officers attempted to make contact at the home but initially couldn’t determine if anyone was inside. Because the initial information possibly involved weapons, police requested the West Metro SWAT Team to assist.
While the SWAT team was mobilizing, officers were able to get a 50-year-old man to exit the residence. Police said he was safely detained for further questioning and has not yet been charged, a department spokesperson said.
Investigators later obtained a search warrant for the home as part of the investigation. The SWAT team then made entry into the residence and turned the scene over to Crystal investigators to complete the search.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing and potential charges are pending. Anyone with info is asked to call the Crystal Police Department tip line at 763-531-1020.
