Man Fatally Shot Outside Rochester Apartment

 

A man was shot and killed late Thursday morning outside a northwest Rochester apartment building.

Police say the investigation remains active, with few details released so far.

Officers were dispatched just after 11:30 a.m. to the 1000 block of 41st Street Northwest on a report of a shooting. They found a man outside the apartment building with a gunshot wound to the neck and no pulse, per initial radio dispatches.

Police performed CPR and other lifesaving efforts, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Rochester Police Department has not released the victim’s name or any suspect information as of Thursday afternoon. The department said the case remains a developing situation and is being actively investigated.

Authorities have not announced any arrests or said whether they believe the shooting was targeted. No additional context or motive has been provided, and police have not indicated if they are searching for a suspect or if anyone is in custody.
