Prosecutors charged 24-year-old Dantrell Dajuan Clark with one count of second-degree murder with intent and three counts of attempted second-degree murder in connection with the Oct. 7 shooting at Bar Zia in downtown Minneapolis.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to the bar around 11:36 p.m. and found four people shot on the dance floor. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck multiple times in the torso and head, while the other three were treated for gunshot wounds to their legs and are expected to survive.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage showing a single gunman opening fire at close range while two other men appeared to assist him. The shooter was identified as Arlonzo Williams, and the other men as Clark and another accomplice. Video showed the three arriving together in a silver Chevrolet sedan, entering and exiting the bar several times, and appearing to coordinate moments before the gunfire erupted.

Footage captured Clark and Williams watching the front entrance from a window, pointing toward the eventual victim and exchanging what appeared to be a concealed object before returning to the dance floor. Seconds before the shooting, Clark punched the victim several times while Williams drew a handgun and fired repeatedly from less than three feet away. The two fled together, escaping in the same sedan.

Police say Clark, Williams and the third accomplice are known members of the “Lows,” a north Minneapolis street gang involved in ongoing violence with the rival “Highs.” Investigators believe the victim was affiliated with the opposing group and that the attack fit the pattern of previous gang shootings.

Court records show Clark previously served prison time for a 2020 second-degree assault conviction in a gang-related shooting on Broadway Avenue. He had been released from supervision in July 2025 and was awaiting sentencing in a separate felony fleeing case from April.

Police later arrested Clark in Bloomington on Oct. 24 after a chase. Officers found a modified handgun capable of automatic fire, $20,000 in cash, as well as additional firearms and ammunition inside his vehicle and home. That arrest led to pending machine gun and fleeing charges in a separate case.

Clark was later identified on Bar Zia surveillance footage and admitted to fighting at the bar before ending the interview with investigators.

He remains in custody on $2 million bail in Hennepin County Jail. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison on the murder charge.
