A Minneapolis man shot another man in the wrist and abdomen after a street fight outside the So Low Meat Market on Oct. 27, according to the complaint.

Roger Dale Felton, 42, is charged in Hennepin County District Court with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon causing substantial bodily harm, a felony. The complaint was filed Nov. 3. A judge issued a warrant for his arrest and set bail at $150,000.

According to the complaint, officers were sent to a shooting outside the market at about 9:13 a.m. The victim had been shot in the left wrist and the abdomen and was taken to a hospital in a red Ford Explorer. He and two women with him were reluctant to give officers any information.

Surveillance video shows the Explorer stopping behind a gray Chevrolet Trailblazer, the complaint says. A man dressed in all black gets out of the Trailblazer’s back seat and fights with a man from the Explorer as others try to break it up. As the man from the Explorer walks back to the driver’s side, the man in black follows him and a gunshot is heard. The man in black then runs back to the Trailblazer and its driver leaves the scene. The people from the Explorer scream and run before returning to their vehicle and driving off.

Police traced the Trailblazer’s temporary tag to a woman who agreed to give a statement. She said she had given a ride to Felton and a woman. While she was driving on Lowry Avenue, a man she knew drove up behind her and honked for her to pull over. She stopped near the market. The man got out of his car and Felton got out of hers. Their heated conversation turned physical. She tried to break it up and they eventually separated.

She told police that as she turned to walk back to her vehicle, she heard a single gunshot. Felton then yelled at her, “get in the car, run, run, run!” He got into her vehicle and she dropped him off near Washington and Dowling avenues.
