A man arranging to buy a cell phone through Facebook marketplace was robbed at gunpoint in Minneapolis after the seller revealed a handgun and demanded his cash, according to the complaint.
Ramari Dejon Turner, 22, is charged in Hennepin County District Court with first-degree aggravated robbery in a complaint filed October 30.
The complaint says that on August 22, 2026, at about 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a robbery report in Minneapolis. The victim told officers he had agreed to meet a seller he contacted on Facebook marketplace to purchase a cell phone. The seller said he did not have a car and asked to meet outside his home.

According to the complaint, the victim saw the seller walking toward the meeting spot from the south. The seller wore a black mask pulled down to reveal his face and asked if the victim had the money. When the victim showed $500 in cash, the seller lifted his shirt to display a black handgun in his waistband and said, “you see this? Give me the money and start walking away.”
The complaint states that the victim’s wife accompanied him to the transaction and waited in the car, recording the seller as he approached. Officers reviewed the video, which clearly showed the seller’s face and distinctive tattoos. Police identified Ramari Dejon Turner as the person in the video.
Prosecutors say that after his arrest and after being advised of his rights, Ramari Dejon Turner told officers he had $1,000 that could hopefully get him out of the situation.
If convicted, Turner faces a charge of first-degree aggravated robbery for allegedly using a handgun to take cash from the victim during the arranged meeting.
