A girl was hurt in a shooting Tuesday evening in Burnsville, and police said early information shows it was not a random incident.

Officers were called at about 7 p.m. Oct. 20 to the 1700 block of McAndrews Road West on a report of a shooting, the Burnsville Police Department said. They found a juvenile girl who had been struck by gunfire. Her injuries were minor, and she was treated, police said.

Police ordered people in the area to shelter in place while officers and mutual aid partners worked the scene. The order had been lifted by the department’s 10:57 p.m. update. No one was in custody at that time, and the investigation remains active, police said.
