A 79-year-old Pequot Lakes man riding an electric bicycle was killed Tuesday afternoon when he crossed the lanes of Highway 371 and was struck by a semitrailer truck, the Minnesota State Patrol said.
The crash happened at about 2:07 p.m. Oct. 20 near Crow Wing County Road 29, according to the patrol’s incident report. The truck was heading south on Highway 371 and moving into the left lane while the e-bike was on the southbound shoulder, the patrol said. The e-bike came across all lanes of traffic and was hit by the truck.
