A man was found stabbed to death in the front yard of a south Minneapolis home early Sunday, and homicide investigators are working to determine what happened.

Third Precinct officers responded with fire and EMS crews around 6:45 a.m. on August 30 to a report of a man down in a yard in the 4200 block of Portland Avenue, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.

Officers found a dead man with an apparent fatal stab wound in the front yard of a home.

Police secured the scene and canvassed the area, and MPD forensic scientists processed the scene and collected evidence. Homicide investigators are still working to determine the sequence of events that led to the man’s death. No arrests have been made.

The man who died has not yet been identified.
