A man was killed and four others wounded in a shooting outside a Minneapolis business Sunday evening, the second mass shooting in the city that day.
Fifth Precinct officers were called around 8:20 p.m. on July 19 to a report of a shooting with multiple people hurt in the 1800 block of Nicollet Avenue, according to MPD.
Officers found four wounded men at the scene. A 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both with potentially life-threatening injuries, and a 43-year-old man with injuries that did not appear life-threatening were taken by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare. The 28-year-old man later died at the hospital.

A fourth man, 36, was taken to North Memorial Health with injuries that did not appear life-threatening. A fifth man, 26, later walked into Hennepin Healthcare with a gunshot wound that did not appear life-threatening.
Preliminary information indicates the gunfire broke out outside a business in the 1800 block of Nicollet Avenue, police said.

Officers secured the scene and canvassed the area. MPD homicide investigators are working to determine the sequence of events that led to the shooting. There have been no arrests.
Police said there is no known connection between this shooting and the earlier mass shooting Sunday that wounded nine people outside an event center on the 2900 block of Hennepin Avenue.
The man who died has not yet been identified.
