A man died Monday after firefighters pulled him from a burning home in North St. Paul, authorities say.
The fire was reported around 10:10 a.m. at a single-family residence in the 2600 block of 2nd Avenue East.
North St. Paul firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and an active fire inside the home. Crews searched the structure and found an adult male inside.

He was extricated and transported by Advanced Life Support ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The Maplewood Fire Department, Oakdale Fire Department, White Bear Lake Fire Department, Lakeview Ambulance and the North St. Paul Police Department assisted at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
