The victim and a witness went to the Abbott Apartments that Tuesday to meet an associate, according to the complaint. The associate appeared to be stalling, leaving the room multiple times. The witness said he had started to get suspicious but had not yet left when the associate returned, and at that moment three armed men burst into the lounge room off the lobby and yelled “Give me everything.”

Two of the men had Glocks with extensions and one carried an AR-style rifle.

The men pointed guns at the witness and stole two firearms from him. One of the stolen Glocks was handed to the associate. The men then demanded a Louis Vuitton bag from the victim. When the victim refused to hand it over, a fight broke out.

The witness tried to move toward the victim but the associate racked the gun now in his possession and pointed it at him. The witness fled to the lobby, where he heard multiple gunshots. He returned to the lounge and found the fatally victim shot.

Investigators determined the man in the tan jacket strongly resembled Ibrahim. Cell tower analysis placed Ibrahim’s phone traveling from his residence on 4th Avenue South to the scene at the time of the homicide, with movement consistent with the suspect in the tan jacket. Detectives also obtained Snapchat records for Ibrahim and others connected to the case.

Photos showed Ibrahim and the others together at the location of the shooting within hours of the killing. In those photos, the associate was wearing a tan jacket, which he was not wearing later at the time of the shooting. Comparing the Snapchat photos to the surveillance video, detectives positively identified Ibrahim as the man in the tan jacket.

Ibrahim is currently in federal custody on a separate pending case. Second-degree felony murder carries a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison.
