According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2001 Harley Davidson XL1200 was traveling east when the rider lost control and laid the bike down on the roadway. A 2006 Harley Davidson Cruiser following behind was unable to avoid the crash and also went down.

The riders, a 55-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man—both from Fargo, North Dakota—were injured. No information about helmet use or the extent of their injuries was immediately provided. Radio dispatches indicated that both patients were flown by LifeLink helicopter to a trauma center for at least serious injuries.

The State Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
