Two off-duty Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who were dining at a nearby restaurant are credited with performed life-saving CPR.

A man died Tuesday after being found in Shannon Lake, about 7 miles northwest of Chisholm.

Authorities say 8-year-old Karmon Conneh, of Brooklyn Center, was found unresponsive in the water near the south beach of Lake Independence on Thursday, July 24.

Deputies were called around 2:23 a.m. on July 19 for a report of a possible drowning at the lake’s public swimming beach. While emergency crews were responding, dispatchers were told that bystanders were performing CPR.

The drowning victim has since been identified as Beverly Rodriguez, 40, a sergeant with the Metro Transit Police Department. She served as NLPOA's northern vice president and was a member of the department’s Homeless Action Team.

Emergency crews were called around 4:18 p.m. on June 5 after a 911 caller reported that his friend had gone missing while cliff diving into the water at the Genoa Pit near Gilbert.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says a 31-year-old Canadian man died Friday morning while scuba diving with another person at Pike Lake. Emergency responders were called to the Pike Lake Public Access in Canosia Township around 10:30 a.m. for a report of a man who had gone underwater.
