Police say the incident began around 6:40 p.m. on Aug. 8, when a resident flagged down an officer to report a man wearing only boxer shorts and acting erratically.

Luke Joshua Cain, 30, pleaded guilty in May to second-degree unintentional murder while committing a felony and was sentenced Thursday to five years in prison.

The victim’s mother called 911 around 8:10 a.m. that morning after finding her son unresponsive under a picnic table in the park, which is next to her residence. She told dispatchers her son had blood around his head, was cold to the touch and partially under the table.

Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud, now 19, is charged in Blue Earth County with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault causing great bodily harm and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.

Daniel Penmong Moua, 20, was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with second-degree murder and first-degree assault in connection with the attack, according to a criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County.

Saint Paul officers responded around 12:10 a.m. to the 1500 block of University Avenue West, outside the Midway Saloon, after Metro Transit officers nearby heard gunfire and located the scene.

The State Patrol says a Dodge Grand Caravan and a privately-owned Komatsu WA470 front-end loader were both being driven north on the highway when they collided.

Just after 3 p.m. on Aug. 5, a Ramsey County Probation officer who was checking on 60-year-old Anthony DeWalt at an apartment building on the 500 block of Stryker Avenue.

Lonnie William Cory is charged with one count of criminal vehicular operation resulting in great bodily harm for a crash that happened just after 8 p.m. Sunday along northbound Highway 61 near Summit Avenue in Saint Paul Park.

The crash happened around 6:54 p.m. near the northbound exit ramp to 70th Street South. The State Patrol says a Harley Davidson and a 2016 Land Rover LR4 were both traveling north when the vehicles made contact.

Around 1:51 a.m. on Aug. 2, Columbia Heights Police responded to a report of gunfire targeting a vehicle near the 1200 block of 43rd Avenue Northeast.

According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders were dispatched at 2:48 p.m. to a rural property at 24041 County Highway 1 for a report of a UTV rollover involving two children.

Devione Leeante Malone, of Saint Paul, admitted to two counts of first-degree attempted murder, four counts of first-degree assault, and one count of illegally possessing a firearm.

The charge follows a law enforcement and medical investigation that began on May 6, when Rodriguez called 911 to report that her infant son was unresponsive and experiencing seizure-like activity.

A 2024 International MV607 box truck driven by 37-year-old Kou Lee, of Sheboygan, Wisc., struck a 2022 Ford Escape, pushing it onto the right shoulder. The truck then hit a 1969 Chevrolet C10 pickup, which was pushed into a 2019 Ford F-150.

The crash happened around 11:15 p.m. near the intersection of 146th Street and 285th Avenue Northwest. The rider, identified as Andrew R. Steadman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jeremy John Miller is charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving juveniles under 18, with prosecutors alleging he used coercion and physical contact to assault a 14-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy.

Jake Arnold Ladwig, 23, was charged in Anoka County District Court with second-degree murder without intent and third-degree assault, according to a complaint filed earlier this week.
