Shooting in Mankato Leaves One Dead, Suspect in Custody
Police are investigating after a person was found shot to death inside a vehicle Sunday morning in Mankato.
Around 9:30 a.m., Mankato Department of Public Safety officers were called to a report of a shooting in the area of Holly Lane.

When they arrived, they found a person dead inside a vehicle on the 1600 block of Madison Avenue. Investigators believe the victim drove to that location before dying from gunshot wounds.
Officers quickly identified and arrested a suspect connected to the shooting and recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the incident. Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public, as the suspect in custody is thought to be responsible.
The investigation remains active and includes assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies. Authorities said they plan to release more details, including the names of the victim and suspect, as the case progresses.
