According to a criminal complaint, 18-year-old Dijon Jacquez Davis is charged with first-degree carjacking and first-degree aggravated robbery for a July 19, 2025 incident in south Minneapolis.
During the spree of carjackings, Davis had an arrest warrant for allegedly ambushed a man in a parking garage, beating him, and then shooting him multiple times as he attempted to flee. The victim was found bleeding heavily with gunshot wounds to his torso and thigh. Investigators say the victim will require several months of hospitalization due to his injuries. He is charged with multiple counts of attempted murder and kidnapping.

Police say a delivery driver told officers he was robbed at gunpoint while delivering food to an apartment at 2200 32nd Street East. The driver said a man wearing a black hoodie came from the side of the building with a long gun, demanded his wallet and keys, and drove off in his black Mazda CX-30. Investigators determined the delivery order was placed using a phone number later traced to Davis.
Days later, that same stolen Mazda was involved in a crash in another part of the city. Witnesses told police the driver—matching the earlier suspect’s description—was speeding before colliding with another vehicle. When he couldn’t drive the damaged Mazda, the man allegedly pointed a long gun at a woman who had stopped to help, demanded her car, and fled in it.
Officers processing the stolen Mazda found a live .40-caliber round inside a pair of pants left in the vehicle.

Less than two weeks after the first carjacking, on July 28, police say another delivery driver was robbed at the same 32nd Street address. The suspect again ordered food from the same phone number and allegedly pointed a long gun at the driver’s head before stealing her vehicle.
Investigators tracked the phone’s location and, on July 29, located the second stolen car near 29th Avenue North and Newton Avenue North. When officers tried to stop it, the driver fled at high speed for about seven miles before running from the vehicle near 15th Avenue South and 19th Street East. Officers caught the suspect after a short foot chase and identified him as Davis. He was found carrying a .40-caliber handgun and the same phone tied to the earlier robberies.
Court records say Davis has used the alias “Dijon Bell,” a name that combines his own first name and his mother’s last name. Investigators noted that Davis and his family have lived near where he was arrested.
DNA testing later linked Davis to both the stolen Mazda and the delivery driver’s cell phone, with scientists finding what they described as “very strong support” that his DNA was present on both items.
Police say Davis is also accused in another armed robbery and carjacking of a Domino’s driver on July 17, just two days before the first case in this complaint. Those charges are still pending.
A judge set bail at $350,000 in this case, but is being held on $1.5 million bail in the attempted murder case. If convicted, Davis faces up to 20 years in prison on each count.
