Woman Killed in Head-On Crash South of Mankato
A woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a head-on crash south of Mankato.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened at 4:59 p.m. on Highway 22 near mile marker 47 in Decoria Township.

Authorities say the driver of a 2020 Cadillac XT4 was travelling northbound on Highway 22, while the driver of a 2022 Ram 1500 was travelling southbound when they collided head-on.
The driver of the Cadillac, 67-year-old Mary Gay Hlavac of North Mankato, was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said she was wearing her seat belt and alcohol was not a factor.

The driver of the Ram, a 56-year-old man of Amboy, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato for treatment. He was also wearing his seat belt and no impairment was reported.
The road was dry at the time of the crash.
Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, St. Clair Fire Department, and Mayo Clinic Health System Ambulance assisted at the scene.
