Police say the incident began around 7:42 p.m. in the 800 block of Olson Memorial Highway when a man entered an apartment unit and attacked two females inside. During the assault, a juvenile female reportedly used a knife to defend herself and ran to a neighbor’s apartment for help.

The man followed her to that apartment and continued to attack both her and a male resident who tried to intervene. The male then used a hatchet to defend himself and the juvenile from the suspect, police said.
