Police Investigating Fatal Afternoon Shooting in Saint Paul

A man was killed in a broad-daylight shooting on Saturday afternoon in Saint Paul.

The shooting was reported around 2:25 p.m. on the 900 block of York Avenue, where Saint Paul police found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers attempted lifesaving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Homicide investigators remained on scene for several hours documenting evidence and canvassing the area as they worked to determine what led up to the shooting and who was responsible. Authorities have not released suspect information and no arrests were announced as of publication.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to confirm the man’s identity and determine the official cause and manner of death. Police said that information and future updates will be released by the department.

The killing marks the first homicide of 2026 in Saint Paul.
