When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower leg. Investigators say an unknown suspect entered the business, fired at the man and fled on foot.
According to police, the victim—who was also armed—chased the suspect outside and fired several shots as the gunman ran off. It is not yet known if the suspect was struck. The injured man was taken to Regions Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Multiple squads set up a perimeter around the area, but despite a search that continued into the early morning hours, the suspect was not located. Detectives reviewed nearby surveillance cameras and collected shell casings from both inside and outside the saloon as part of the investigation.
Around the same time, officers responded to another incident nearby. Shortly before midnight Saturday, a report came in of an armed robbery at a store on the 800 block of Fremont Avenue, less than a mile away. The clerk told officers a masked suspect entered with a gun, demanded cash and ran off before police arrived.
While the two incidents occurred close in time and location, police say there is no connection between them. Both remain under active investigation.
