Two men are charged with aiding a drive-by shooting that wounded a teen in his bedroom in Saint Paul, part of what the complaints call a feud between two gangs that dates to 2023.
Tayva Souriyavong, 18, faces a charge of aiding and abetting a drive-by shooting toward an occupied motor vehicle or building, as does Nathan Hla Peter, who was 18 at the time of the shooting. Their complaints were filed October 23 in Ramsey County District Court. A judge set bail at $150,000 for Souriyavong and $100,000 for Peter.
According to the complaints, officers went to a drive-by shooting at a Saint Paul home at about 10:45 p.m. on September 13, 2026. They found 28 spent 9mm and .40 caliber casings and a weapon light in front of the house, where Souriyavong lives. The complaint says he was not cooperative with police.

At about 2:45 a.m. on September 14, officers went to another Saint Paul home for a shooting. They found a teen in a bedroom with a gunshot wound through his leg. He told officers he was in the bedroom with another person when they heard gunshots and a bullet came through the door. Medics took him to Regions Hospital.
Officers found 16 spent 9mm casings and five spent .40 caliber casings in the alley behind the house and saw multiple bullet holes through the home’s back wall. A bullet hole through a window appeared to line up with the hole in the bedroom door.
A neighbor told police she heard gunshots and saw two vehicles leave a short time later, both similar to a Subaru Outback, one of them white. A police dog tracked a human scent from the alley to an intersection near DeSoto Street and Cook Avenue, where it lost the trail. Neighborhood surveillance video showed a white SUV followed by a gray SUV and investigators said the white one was possibly a Toyota RAV4.
Investigators say phone location data, a license plate reader and data from the RAV4’s infotainment system tie the vehicle to the area of the second shooting between 2:42 a.m. and 2:48 a.m. Souriyavong declined an interview after his arrest. Peter told investigators he was not involved in any drive-by shootings and asked for a lawyer, ending the interview, the complaint says.
The complaints say the shootings are part of a dispute between two Asian gangs that have been feuding since 2023, MAK on one side and FSB/BTK on the other, with multiple drive-by shootings and other violence. Souriyavong, Peter and two other people were identified as being on one side of the dispute.
Each count carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, a $20,000 fine or both, according to the complaints.
