According to court filings, the shooting happened August 26 near 29th Street East and Clinton Avenue South, where officers found one man dead and six others suffering from gunshot wounds. Dozens of .223 shell casings were recovered at the scene. A witness provided dash camera video that showed a gray Honda Civic circling the block before stopping, with the shooter getting out of the passenger side and firing into a crowd. Investigators later identified the car as belonging to Quinn.

Surveillance teams watched the car return to Quinn’s Inver Grove Heights address shortly after the shooting, this time with the rear license plate reattached. Officers identified Quinn as the driver and Martindale in the passenger seat. Quinn admitted to police that he and Martindale picked up a man he knew only as “Bino,” who directed them to the scene and carried out the shooting. Afterward, they dropped him off in north Minneapolis. Martindale’s phone contained numerous calls with Bino that day and searches tied to a McDonald’s near the shooting location.
