Minneapolis Shooting Leaves Man with Life-Threatening Injuries

 

A man was critically injured in a shooting incident saturday evening that ended with his vehicle crashing in south Minneapolis.

MPD says officers were called to the area of East 28th Street and 10th Avenue South at about 6:44 p.m. for reports of gunfire.

When they arrived, they found a man inside a vehicle with an apparent life-threatening gunshot wound.

Emergency responders provided care at the scene before taking him to Hennepin Healthcare with apparent life-threatening injuries.

According to initial information from police, a gunshot was fired into the vehicle while the man was inside. The vehicle then crashed, and the suspected shooter fled the area before officers arrived.

Officers secured the intersection, canvassed the neighborhood for witnesses and surveillance video and collected evidence.

No arrests have been made, and investigators continue to work to determine what led up to the shooting.
