According to investigators, 34-year-old Jamond Leroy Glass was previously employed as a civilian in the department’s nonfatal shooting unit before being placed on administrative leave and later terminated.

The investigation began Oct. 10 when Minneapolis Airport Police intercepted a package addressed to “Kay Wilson” at a Cobble Hill Court residence in Woodbury. A field test confirmed the package contained methamphetamine, leading Washington County detectives to arrange a controlled delivery to the same address.

Investigators watched as Glass retrieved the package and carried it inside. Investigators then executed a search warrant at his apartment, where they found large amounts of drugs along with loaded firearms and ammunition, including a KAHR pistol, a loaded .40 caliber magazine and a Springfield XD-40 handgun with a partially loaded magazine.

Testing confirmed the seized narcotics included 4,451 grams—about 9.8 pounds—of methamphetamine, 765 grams of fentanyl and 10.5 grams of cocaine.

Prosecutors charged Glass with first-degree controlled substance possession for having more than 50 grams of methamphetamine. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.

Glass made an initial court appearance on Monday. He has since posted a $50,000 bond and is due back in court Dec. 1.
