A large stash of methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine was found inside a Minneapolis residence after officers executed a search warrant, prosecutors say.
Cedric Givon Hayes, 42, of Minneapolis, faces six felony charges in Hennepin County District Court: first-degree sale of methamphetamine, first-degree possession of methamphetamine or cocaine, first-degree sale of heroin or fentanyl, second-degree possession of fentanyl or heroin, third-degree sale of a narcotic and fifth-degree drug possession. The charges were filed October 23.
According to the complaint, officers with the Minneapolis Police Department executed search warrants in Minneapolis on October 21. Officers had previously obtained a warrant to search both Hayes and his residence for evidence of controlled substance sales.

Officers found Hayes outside his residence and arrested him. A search of his person turned up three cell phones. Inside the residence, officers found two plastic bags containing a total of 230 grams of methamphetamine, four plastic bags with 15.56 grams of fentanyl and two plastic bags with 2.72 grams of cocaine.
Investigators also recovered numerous empty plastic bags with the corners torn off, a digital scale with methamphetamine residue, and $3,630 in cash. Officers found a US Passport, two Social Security cards, two Illinois driver’s licenses and a business credit card, all bearing Hayes’s information and photo.
No other people were found inside the residence during the search. The complaint states that the amount of controlled substances, the presence of a digital scale with residue, the large amount of cash, three cell phones and the empty plastic bags are all indicative of an intent to sell drugs.
The first-degree sale charge involving cocaine or methamphetamine alleges Hayes sold or possessed with intent to sell 17 grams or more. The first-degree possession charge covers having 50 grams or more of methamphetamine or cocaine. The second-degree possession charge involves at least 6 grams of fentanyl or heroin. The third-degree sale charge alleges sale of a narcotic, and the fifth-degree charge covers possession of a controlled substance or drug paraphernalia.
