Driver Critically Injured in Isanti County Fair Crash Has Died, Family Says

A man who was critically injured during a demolition derby at the Isanti County Fair has died from his injuries, family and friends have confirmed.
According to a GoFundMe, Josh Wines was participating in the final race of the Night of Destruction event Thursday night at the fairgrounds when his vehicle reportedly rolled over, trapping him inside.

First responders arrived at the fairgrounds and began life-saving efforts after Wines was critically injured during the crash. He was airlifted to the hospital but later died from his injuries.
Loved ones say Josh and his wife had recently gotten married and were preparing to leave for their long-awaited honeymoon. In a statement shared with supporters, the family said, “Josh fought courageously in the hospital after being airlifted from the scene, but his injuries were ultimately too severe.”
They also shared that in his final act of generosity, Josh will be donating his organs to help save and improve the lives of others.

A GoFundMe initially launched to support medical costs has now shifted to assist Josh’s wife with funeral expenses and financial support as she navigates the sudden loss. More than $21,000 has been raised as of Saturday afternoon.
Josh worked as a driver for Long Shot Trucking, where he was known as a dedicated coworker and friend. The company and the wider community have rallied behind his family since the crash.
Authorities have not yet released official findings about the crash.
