Late-Night Fire Kills 2 in Northern Minnesota Home

 

Two people were found dead after a house fire late Thursday night in Beatty Township, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies and fire crews from Cook, Orr, Kinney-Great Scott and Greenwood responded just after 9:20 p.m. to a residential fire in the rural township northwest of Lake Vermilion.

When emergency responders arrived, the home was already fully engulfed in flames.

After the fire was brought under control, officials located two people deceased inside the residence.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released, pending family notifications. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
