Commander Ben Zawacki said Vang was walking away from the building holding a long gun when deputies arrested him. Law enforcement from several agencies responded following reports of gunfire at the government complex on Business Center Drive in Elk River.

Vang was booked into the Sherburne County Jail following the arrest. The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains active and ongoing to determine whether Vang committed any other crimes before or after entering the Government Center.
