A man fired multiple shots from a white SUV outside a Brooklyn Park apartment after threatening to kill a woman or himself, according to the complaint.
Cedrick Armani Steward, who was 28 at the time of the alleged shooting, faces three felony charges in Hennepin County District Court: drive-by shooting toward a person, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of a crime of violence.
According to the complaint, Brooklyn Park police responded to the 6400 block of 67th Avenue on September 28, 2026, after a report of shots fired. The victim told officers that Steward showed up outside her residence that morning and began yelling her name. She looked out her window and saw him in a white SUV.

The victim said Steward insisted that he belonged to her and threatened that he would be outside every day. He made statements about killing her or himself and said he was not afraid of law enforcement. The complaint states Steward got out of his vehicle and stood in the grass in front of her building before getting back in and driving westbound.
The victim told police she thought Steward was leaving, but he made a U-turn in the road and, as he drove by her apartment, fired two shots from inside the vehicle, pointing the gun straight in the air, she said. As he continued eastbound, he fired three more shots while driving away. The victim said Steward was alone in the SUV and described the handgun as black. She also reported that Steward pointed the gun at his own head while making threats.
Officers found several .380 shell casings in the street where the victim said the shots were fired. The Hennepin County Crime Lab processed the scene. Steward was later taken into custody on October 20, 2026, in connection with the shooting.
The complaint says Steward has prior convictions that prohibit him from possessing firearms or ammunition.
The charges were filed October 22 in Hennepin County District Court.
