A Brooklyn Park man threatened to kill three women and brandished a knife in a parking lot after assaulting one of them inside an apartment, according to charges.
Khyre Anthony Powell, 24, faces two counts of threats of violence and one count of fifth-degree assault.
According to the complaint, Brooklyn Park police were dispatched to the 5800 block of 73rd Avenue North at about 10:39 p.m. on September 3, 2026. Officers learned that Powell became angry with a woman who is friends with his girlfriend and began screaming at her and threatening her. The victim called another woman for help.

Powell assaulted the first victim by throwing her against a closet, causing her to fall and injure her foot. He then threatened both women, prompting them to flee the apartment and seek safety in another unit, where they locked the door. Police arrived, assisted the victims and cleared the scene.
About 15 minutes later, officers were called back to the parking lot of the same building. There, they learned Powell had approached the second woman and a third woman, threatened to kill them and brandished a knife. According to the complaint, Powell told the women he would “end them all” and said, “I won’t be in jail forever. I will find you.”
Officers located Powell nearby and took him into custody. He told police he had thrown the knife away somewhere in a nearby creek. The charges include two counts of threats of violence for threatening to kill the women and one count of fifth-degree assault for throwing the first victim against a closet and injuring her foot.
