A man sexually assaulted a woman while squeezing her throat, leaving her unable to breathe and struggling to speak, according to charges. The woman reported the April 8 assault to Richfield police around 7:20 that morning.
Kyle Michael Miller, 32, of Richfield, is charged with felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct and felony domestic assault by strangulation in a complaint filed Sept. 17.
The woman told officers she had awakened around 4:30 a.m. to Miller kissing her. She pushed him away and told him to stop, but he grabbed her and said he would have sex with her regardless of her wishes, according to the complaint.
She said Miller ignored her repeated refusals, grabbed her throat and tore one of her pant legs. She reported that he sexually assaulted her while squeezing her throat.
Afterward, Miller told her to wash herself and then left for work, the woman told police. She also reported that he had been violent toward her previously.
