A Minneapolis man stripped naked and stabbed another man in the buttocks on LaSalle Avenue before officers arrested him at the scene, prosecutors say.
Jameel Harps, 33, faces a charge of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. The charge alleges that Harps used a pocket knife to stab the victim, causing injury.
The stabbing happened at about 9:56 a.m. on September 4, 2026, on the 800 block of LaSalle Avenue in downtown Minneapolis, according to the complaint. Officers responded to reports that a man was taking off his clothing and was now naked. When officers arrived, they found the suspect naked at the scene and took him into custody.

According to court records, officers found the victim in the lobby of the 800 block of LaSalle Avenue. The victim had blood on his pants and was holding a bandage to his left buttock. The victim told officers he had been walking down LaSalle near 8th Street when Harps approached, called him names and stabbed him in the left buttock. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Officers recovered Harps’s clothing on the sidewalk, along with a pocket knife believed to have been used in the assault. The complaint does not indicate that Harps made any statements to police at the scene.
Court records note that Harps had been sentenced on a felony threats of violence charge just one day before the stabbing, on September 3, 2026. The charge was filed Tuesday, September 8.
