A Minneapolis woman concealed clothing under her clothes and walked out of a Bloomington store with another woman before officers found a loaded handgun on her, according to charges.
Arjanae Javon Bryant, 18, faces two charges: carrying a pistol without a permit in a public place and theft.
According to the complaint, on Saturday, August 1, 2026, two Bloomington police officers were working an overtime shift at a store in Bloomington when a loss prevention employee alerted them to two women concealing clothing items underneath their clothing. The complaint states both women passed all points of sale without attempting to pay for the concealed merchandise.

Officers confronted the women in the front vestibule area. One of the women was identified as Arjanae Javon Bryant. During a search incident to arrest, an officer found a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun on Bryant. The officer checked for a carry permit and learned Bryant did not have a valid permit to carry a firearm in Minnesota.
The complaint states officers recovered stolen merchandise valued at $7.98 from Bryant. She was arrested at the scene. The charges were filed September 2, 2026, in Hennepin County District Court.
