A Minneapolis man pulled a handgun and fired at a driver during a robbery attempt on the 1400 block of Plymouth Avenue North, striking the victim in the arm as he tried to escape.
Tyreek Teashawn Hall, 18, faces charges of aiding and abetting 1st-degree aggravated robbery and 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, according to a complaint filed Monday in Hennepin County District Court.
According to court documents, the victim arrived at North Memorial Health Hospital on June 21 seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his right upper arm. The victim told officers he had gone to meet three men, later identified as Hall, Jakai Teajai Rice and Rashawn Deandre Coleman, when all three reached into his vehicle in an attempt to take his firearm. The victim said his phone was also taken and that multiple shots were fired at his vehicle as he drove away.

Surveillance footage from a nearby residence captured the encounter. The video shows the victim’s white Dodge Challenger backing into a parking lot at about 5:34 p.m. Hall is seen exiting a building wearing a grey sweatshirt with a white paint-splatter design, followed by Coleman in black clothing and Rice near the entrance.
Hall and Coleman approached the driver’s side of the vehicle, with Rice joining them minutes later. Both Hall and Coleman are seen drawing firearms, Hall with a handgun and Coleman with a rifle, and pointing them at the victim.
The video shows Hall and Coleman reaching through the driver’s window, with Rice also reaching in as a struggle ensued. As the victim sped away, all three men pointed firearms at the vehicle. Hall and Coleman appeared to fire multiple rounds, and Rice turned and fired additional shots as the victim sped away. The victim’s vehicle was struck by at least one bullet near the rear driver’s side.
Two days later, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on the same block. A resident told investigators she awoke to the three men entering her apartment immediately after hearing gunshots. She identified Coleman as the man carrying the rifle and Hall as the man in the grey sweatshirt. During the search, officers recovered a black iPhone, a black extended handgun magazine, a box of .223 caliber ammunition, a live 9mm cartridge and a black sweatshirt.
Hall is scheduled to appear in court on a future date.
