A woman was shot and killed inside a south Minneapolis apartment Saturday and the suspected shooter fled before officers arrived, a MPD spokesperson said.

Fifth Precinct officers responded at about 5:35 p.m. to a report of a shooting at the apartment building in the 2400 block of Pillsbury Avenue.

Officers found a woman with life-threatening gunshot wounds and began rendering medical aid. She was taken to Hennepin Healthcare, where she later died.
