A Brooklyn Park man already under investigation for storing meth and guns in a Minneapolis storage unit was allegedly caught running a similar operation from a second facility after his ankle monitor gave him away.

Tory William Hirsch, 56, faces four felony charges including first-degree drug sale and felon in possession of a firearm, according to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court.

A detective with the Anoka-Hennepin Narcotics and Violent Crime Task Force began investigating Hirsch in May 2025. Through electronic and physical surveillance, investigators connected him to a storage unit at a Public Storage facility on the 1700 block of Washington Ave. N. in Minneapolis.

Staff at the facility told the detective in October 2025 that a man matching Hirsch’s description had been seen there and was believed to have accessed a unit registered to an associate. Surveillance video from the facility showed Hirsch visiting the unit on multiple occasions, carrying items in and leaving with different items.

Detectives obtained a search warrant and raided the unit on Oct. 21, 2025. Inside they found about 16 grams of methamphetamine, two handguns, four boxes of ammunition and paperwork in Hirsch’s name.

Hirsch was arrested on Jan. 4, 2026. In a post-Miranda interview, he repeatedly changed his story. He initially denied keeping anything in the storage unit, then said he stored clothing and tools. He admitted accessing the unit but denied seeing any guns, then said if he handled them he didn’t remember doing it. He was not charged at the time for investigative reasons and was released from custody.

After his release, Hirsch was placed on electronic home monitoring because he was under supervision on other matters. His ankle monitor data showed that in March 2026 he was frequently visiting an Extra Space Storage facility on the 8500 block of Aspen Lane North in Brooklyn Park. Investigators had also received independent information that Hirsch had resumed dealing drugs.

Detectives learned Hirsch had rented a unit at the Extra Space facility and had accessed it more than 19 times in March. They obtained a search warrant and raided the unit on April 17.

The second raid turned up a far larger haul. Inside the unit, detectives found more than two pounds of methamphetamine in a cardboard box, a black Glock 17 with an obliterated serial number, a white plastic foldable pistol disguised as a cellphone with no serial number, two boxes of 9mm ammunition, packaged hypodermic needles, four vials labeled as nandrolone and testosterone (both Schedule III controlled substances) and multiple documents in Hirsch’s name.

Detectives arrested Hirsch in Roseville later that day. When asked if there were drugs or guns in his car, he responded, “Why, what did you find in there?” When told the vehicle had not been searched yet, he said the passenger “must’ve planted something in there.” Officers found $9,856 in cash on Hirsch during booking.

A search of the vehicle turned up three bags of methamphetamine in a jacket on the passenger seat, totaling about nine ounces with packaging.

In total, investigators seized about 2.7 pounds of meth across the two storage units and the vehicle.

Court records show Hirsch has prior felony convictions including first-degree drugs and felon in possession of a firearm from 2020. He also has a threats of violence conviction from 2018.

Hirsch is currently in custody on a Department of Corrections hold related to the 2020 drug case. latest The first-degree drug sale charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 65 months in prison and a maximum of 40 years.
