A Minneapolis man shot a woman in the wrist while she sat in her car near Lake Street, then fled as she drove herself to the hospital, according to charges.

Antone Larron Owens, 60, faces charges of attempted murder in the second-degree, assault in the second-degree with a dangerous weapon causing substantial bodily harm and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

According to the complaint, officers responded to Abbott Hospital in Minneapolis at about 8:50 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026, after the victim arrived with a gunshot wound to her right wrist. The victim told officers she had been parked on the church side of Lake Street, likely in the 3000 block of 13th Avenue South, when she saw Owens approach her vehicle in the rearview mirror.
