An Itasca County sheriff’s deputy was injured during an officer-involved shooting Monday in the small northern Minnesota community of Max.
The Itasca County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy was transported for medical care but did not release the extent of the injuries.

The suspect is in custody and there is no ongoing threat to the public, according to the sheriff’s office. No additional details about the circumstances of the shooting have been released.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating.
