Deputies arrived and found the man Cloud had named walking on Highway 46. The man was detained and placed in a squad vehicle. Another officer had also detained a woman who had been with the man and transported her back to the residence.

The woman told officers that she and the man had been picked up by Cloud and were supposed to be going to another house, but stopped at Cloud’s house instead. She said that while they were in the kitchen, Cloud started moving toward her in a way that made her uncomfortable, and the man got between them. She left the house, and the man followed her outside.

The man was later called back to the house by someone there, who brought out his phone and sweatshirt. The woman said the man’s phone was smashed, and he was told that Cloud had thrown it against the wall.

The woman said Cloud was standing on the porch holding a large silver kitchen knife and yelling at the man, “I’m going to f*ck you up,” while moving toward him with the knife. The man walked away from the porch and rejoined the woman, and they left the area.

Deputies made several attempts to contact Cloud at the residence. Eventually, a woman answered the door and said she had been sleeping and did not know if Cloud was there. Officers saw Cloud come out of a bedroom and walk toward them with his hands up. He refused to speak with law enforcement and was placed under arrest. The complaint says Cloud had a strong odor of alcohol and provided a preliminary breath test result of .271 BAC.

According to the complaint, Cloud was on DOC probation. The complaint says his criminal history includes felony and misdemeanor convictions for domestic assault, a felony conviction for criminal vehicular homicide involving alcohol, misdemeanor assault, obstructing legal process and a gross misdemeanor DWI test refusal.
