A man and a child were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds at a residence in Holmesville Township on Monday afternoon, the Becker County Sheriff's Office said.
Authorities say there is no known threat to the public.
The sheriff's office received a call around 12:40 p.m. on March 30 from a man who went to check on his brother after he did not show up for work. The man found his brother dead from an apparent gunshot wound at the residence in Holmesville Township, north of Detroit Lakes.

When deputies arrived, they also found a child dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
The names of the deceased are being withheld pending family notification.
The sheriff's office described the scene as isolated and the BCA Crime Lab is assisting with the investigation.
