The man’s death was discovered shortly after 1:09 p.m. on Oct. 1, 2025, when St. Cloud police were called to an apartment building after a reported overdose.

Investigators stress that even occasional or recreational use of these drugs can carry serious risk due to the potency of fentanyl and the difficulty of detecting it without testing.

While "Murder 3" was once rare, the explosion of fentanyl has made it a standard tool in the prosecutorial belt. Here’s how the law works and why it is catching so many dealers off-guard.

The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. at a home on the 3400 block of Third Avenue South. According to police, firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene first, followed by officers who assisted with the response.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County, officers were dispatched for a child not breathing. Paramedics began life-saving treatment and the infant was immediately hospitalized.

Officers were called to a residence in the 1000 block of 5th Street East shortly after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday where they found the child unresponsive. He was transported to Regions Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Cordaro Demario Ware, 32, is being held at the St. Louis County Jail awaiting a court appearance.
