Worker Dies After Being Struck in Burnsville Construction Zone

A 29-year-old construction worker from Saint Paul died Wednesday morning after being struck by a truck driver inside a work zone on Interstate 35W in Burnsville.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the crash happened at 8:59 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-35W at Burnsville Parkway.

According to initial information, the driver of a 2016 Freightliner construction truck equipped with a boom was reversing when he struck the victim, Pierre Raymon Mack, 29.

The driver of the truck was identified as a 50-year-old man from North Branch. He was not injured and Troopers noted that alcohol was not involved. The roadway was dry at the time of the crash.

The Burnsville Police Department and Dakota County Sheriff’s Office assisted state troopers at the scene.
