Woman Killed in Eagan Hit-and-Run, Driver Arrested

A woman died after being struck by a driver who fled the scene early Saturday morning in Eagan, police say.
The crash happened just before 2 a.m. March 7 at the intersection of Cliff Road and Nicols Road.
Officers with the Eagan Police Department and troopers with the Minnesota State Patrol arrived to find a 40-year-old woman unconscious and not breathing in the roadway.

Paramedics transported her to Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, where she was later pronounced dead.
Investigators say the driver involved in the crash left the scene before emergency crews arrived.
Authorities believe the vehicle involved may be a white 2021 or 2022 Honda HR-V or Honda Civic. Investigators say the vehicle is expected to have significant damage to the front passenger side.
Police have not released the identity of the woman who died and the crash remains under active investigation.
UPDATE | 1 p.m. Saturday — Eagan PD says officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle late this morning, parked in a driveway of a house a short distance away from the fatal crash scene. The owner of the vehicle was taken into custody and admitted to driving at the time of the incident. The driver has not yet been identified or formally charged.
