Woman Fatally Struck While Crossing Highway in Green Isle
A 73-year-old woman was struck and killed Wednesday morning while crossing a highway in the city of Green Isle.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened just after 7:20 a.m. on July 30 at the intersection of Highway 5 and Highway 25 in Green Isle Township.

A Peterbilt 367 straight truck was turning east onto Highway 5 from Highway 25 when it struck the woman as she was crossing Highway 5 from west to east in the intersection.
The pedestrian, identified as Mary Ann Ott of Green Isle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, a 35-year-old man of Gaylord, was not injured in the crash and remained at the scene. Authorities said he was wearing a seat belt and showed no signs of impairment.

The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office and Green Isle Fire Department assisted at the scene. Road conditions were reported to be dry at the time of the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
