Vadnais Heights Crash Leaves 14-Year-Old in Critical Condition

A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after he collided with a vehicle while riding an e-bike early Sunday in Vadnais Heights.

Deputies were called around 1:50 a.m. to the intersection of County Road E East and Labore Road, where the teenager had been struck by a vehicle driven by an 80-year-old man.

Initial information from the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office indicates the boy was riding an electric bicycle when he collided with the vehicle. He suffered severe trauma to his head and body. Vadnais Heights Fire and Allina EMS provided care on scene before transporting the boy to Regions Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Authorities say there were no signs of impairment detected.
