2 Teens Killed, 3 Hurt in Head-On Chisago County Crash
Two teenagers died and three others were seriously hurt early Saturday in a head-on crash near Chisago City, officials say.
Lakes Area PD said Chisago County dispatchers got an automated cell-phone crash alert around 1:58 a.m., near Stacy Trail & Ivywood Trail.
Officers and deputies arrived to find a 2014 Toyota Camry and a 2000 Toyota 4Runner that had collided head-on.

Police said a 14-year-old boy was driving the Toyota Camry with two 15-year-old passengers. One of the 15-year-olds died at the scene. The other two were seriously injured, with one flown to Regions Hospital in Saint Paul and the other taken there by ambulance.
The 17-year-old driver of the 4Runner suffered life-threatening injuries, was airlifted to Regions for emergency care but died of his injuries later Saturday, officials confirmed. His passenger, an 18-year-old, was taken by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare.

Officers said alcohol was found at the scene and may have been a factor in the crash. Few other details had been released as of Saturday night but more is expected in the coming days, including the release of the identity of the deceased 15-year-old and 17-year-old.
The Minnesota State Patrol is conducting an accident reconstruction and the Lakes Area Police Department continues to investigate.
Assisting agencies included the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office, Chisago City Fire Department, Stacy-Lent Fire Department, Lakes Region EMS, M Health and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
