St. Louis Park Shots Fired Incident Leads to Arrest

Gunfire erupted in a St. Louis Park parking lot early Saturday, leading to an arrest and the recovery of a firearm, police say.

The incident happened around 2:20 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, in the 4800 block of Highway 7.

St. Louis Park officers were first sent to the area after multiple 911 callers reported hearing gunfire in a parking lot.

Officers arriving at the scene located two people entering a building and detained them without incident. Authorities say a firearm was recovered from one of the people during the investigation.

Police say statements gathered at the scene confirmed both people were involved in the gunfire. One person was arrested on suspicion of reckless discharge of a firearm and carrying a pistol while under the influence of alcohol.

Officials said the gunfire appears to have been an isolated incident and no injuries were reported. Police say there is no known ongoing threat to the public and the investigation remains active.

As of publication, the suspect arrested had not yet been formally charged.
