Police Investigate Death After Body Discovered in Richfield Lake

 

Police are investigating after a body was found floating in Wood Lake Saturday morning.

At about 9:57 a.m. on Oct. 18, a pedestrian called 911 after spotting the body in the water near 6710 Lake Shore Drive.

Richfield officers and emergency personnel responded and pulled an adult male from the lake.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was turned over to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and to determine how he died.

Because the victim was discovered in the water, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation. The case remains open as authorities work to confirm the man’s identity and determine what led to his death.
