Motorcyclist, Passenger Hurt in Collision with Deer in Stearns County

 

Two motorcyclists were hurt when their Harley collided with a deer and crashed in Fairhaven Township, Stearns County authorities say.

Just before 9:50 p.m. on July 3, the sheriff’s office responded to the crash near County Road 7 and Dellwood Road.

Initial information indicates that 42-year-old Christopher Brown, of Clear Lake, was driving a 2009 Harley Davidson southbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his motorcycle. The impact caused Brown to lose control and crash.

Brown and his passenger, 45-year-old Char Matthees-Reid, of Clearwater, both sustained injuries and were transported to St. Cloud Hospital. Updates on their conditions had not been released as of publication.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, South Haven Fire/Rescue and Mayo Ambulance. Authorities have not said whether speed or other factors may have contributed to the crash.
